Ampelmaenchen are creatures in stories for German children. There is a green and a red one. They live inside traffic lights (?) and are resonsible for changing the lights.
I'm bored with the Ampelmännchen. What Berlin needs is the international standard traffic light, dragging eastern road crossings kicking and screaming into the 21st century.
I see those Ampelmännchen everyday when I have to go to the trainstation every morning. I sometimes really hate it to go where I have to every day, but those Ampelmännchen make me smile!
