i have never been to darwin but my father went to alice springs which is not far from there (in outback miles) he brought back some glass dolphins and some aboriginal musical instruments wooden carved sticks with burnt patterns on them which are used for hitting together to make the rhythms at corroborees

What he said is that the process of natural selection goes back and back in time a vast period of time.
Indeed, given the most primitive form of life to require male-female sex for procreation, our common ancestors are a pair of blue-green algae.
Or Adam and Eve, if you creationists prefer.

Darwin is a nice city, there aren't nearly as many people as other Australian cities, in fact it is probably best described as a town.
