Darwin didn't say that we are descended from apes rather than 'Adam and Eve.'

What he said is that the process of natural selection goes back and back in time – a vast period of time.

Indeed, given the most primitive form of life to require male-female sex for procreation, our common ancestors are a pair of blue-green algae.

Or Adam and Eve, if you creationists prefer.

People attacking Darwin lack a sense of time. Two million years is not the same as two hundred million years. A lot more can happen.

There's no need to do it right the first time.

And, anyway, evolution produced frogs. Even I can do that, if you give me a few hundred million years.
