Some evenings there would be a stray grape left in the bottom of the fruit bowl at the tea shop. The little calico cat was very deft at pulling it out with her paw and setting it to roll the length of the sideboard. She would crouch and wait and watch the grape disappear over the edge before racing after it.

Harry always wondered if Maggie hoped that the grape had broken camouflage and turned into a mouse when it hit the floor.
