Long gone are the days when the church provided safety and sanctuary. They think nothing of murdering and burning people in churches nowadays. I blame it all on Henry VIII and his ferocious opponents, the Inquisition...(In)human nature did the rest.
When I was a child, my room was my only sanctuary. But the walls were too thin and the door had no lock.
Now my whole house is my Sanctuary. But without my beloved it would be a prison.
