Believe

'Humph!' muttered Quilp, evidently disappointed to believe that this was true.

To believe is nothing less than the shadow of creation.

Don't believe everything that you hear.

That advertising we've seen everywhere on our trip through England last (oh no, the year before the last, actually) year. It was about a type of margarine that was supposed to taste exactly like butter. Big line »I can't believe it's not butter!« (imagine the voice of an amaaaazed housewife) and in one corner there was a little black gospel singer sitting on the margarine & underneath there was written »I'm a believer baby!«. I always thought it was a mighty stupid bit of advert.

For a child, believing in oneself is impossible. To begin with, there must always be another (or others) to help the process of self-belief – by providing external validation, as it were. I know – there wasn't enough of it in my childhood, so I made very certain that my own offspring had it in spadefuls! And lo! for them, it has worked.

You can believe in other people, if you believe in yourself.

I believe there's something terribly wrong on this planet. I believe it could be different, totally different. I will put all my energy in making it more beautiful, this planet.

I believe that it's possible.

We should not want to believe. We should want to know.

Seeing is believing – but I can't see any of you out there, so how can I believe in any of you? Signed, one frustrated Blaster user
