Sometimes when I dance, I like the movement and the feel and the sound of metal.
Not that I dress in armor. No.
I put on my bracelets and my ankle chains and, yes, a chain around my waist, too. And from the links dangle not bells but charms in the shapes of letters and signs and symbols....and numerals, of course. They move and shimmer and flash and chime one against the other.
How many charms are there? Why, that should be obvious.

I have a few treasures which I keep in a carved wooden box on my desk. Among them is the silver arm bracelet which belonged to my mother in her hippie days. It's a wide cuff engraved with an intricate design of swirling motifs.
I often think that the design represents the path of her life.
Sometimes, I take it out of the box, and use it as a paperweight.
