We once had the awful experience of lighting a bonfire on what turned out to be a tinder-dry and windy September evening – just as our neighbour made the same mistake on his side of the fence....Fence, neighbour's garden shed and a couple of holly trees all burned down in the middle of the night and our aggressive neighbour never forgave us (even though the fire brigade said either bonfire could have been the culprit!)
