Oh yes, there is powerful evidence that Shakespeare sometimes liked to call himself Will. In one of his sonnets (to the Dark Lady, I think), he has a wonderful verbal joke about '...having your Will, and Will to boot and Will in overplus'!! Splendid fellow a Will by any other name would be one of the world's greatest poets and greatest playwright.
